Lost Animals

Contacting lost animals can be very challenging for many reasons.

Many times the animal and person are frightened and worried which makes it difficult getting clear information from the animal as to where they are located so help can be sent. Sometimes the information the animal gives us may not necessarily be in chronological order.

If the animal passed out of his/her body suddenly, many times they may not be aware that they have left their body.  In situations like this we help the animal to make the transition with love and compassion.

There are a few things that I always advise my clients to do in the case of a lost animal and many times these simple steps result in a happy ending.

1.) Imagine a golden cord going from your heart to that of the animal you are trying to locate.  Send love and courage through this cord of energy to channel to your animal.  Do not overwhelm the animal with worry, simply send love.  (Many times animals will use this "energy channel" to find their way home, use the energy to help heal themselves if they are tired or scared, and in the case of cats who are not lost but may be out on a extended hunting trip - encourage them to return sooner).

2.) Lost dogs can travel incredibly far.  Contact shelters and pounds in the surrounding towns - don't just limit it to your town.

3.) Make flyers with your animals picture and talk to all your neighbors.  Many lost animals are located this way.

4.) It has been my experience that dogs can actually get lost and lose track of where they are.  Cats are very good at finding their way home, it is usually something that scares them that keeps them away, such as a wild animal or dog that chased them out of their area.  Some animals leave home for other reasons and are not actually "lost".  These reasons differ with each animal.  Some common reasons that animals have told me they have left are: "the house has been too busy lately and I need some quiet time".  This is a common scenario with cats around the holiday season or if guests "invade" their home.  Many animals are social beings and will wander to visit other animals in the surrounding area. Sometimes animals will leave a stressful situation seeking out a new home.  I have also had animals tell me that they will only return if their person takes better care of theirself i.e. stop smoking, etc.  Nothing surprises me anymore!

5.) I also advise people to ask for information about their animals to come to them as dreams.  Animals communicate with us all the time, but if our minds are too busy we may not get their messages.  When we dream, information streams in un-interupted.  Before you go to bed at night write down a question you want an answer to: For example - I wish to get information on where my kitty is and if she is ok.  Then state this intention before you go to sleep and ask to remember your dreams (very important).  Your animal may just waltz into one of your dreams looking vibrant and healthy letting you know they are ok, or they may appear in an area that your forgot to look letting you know that they are stuck, etc.   Dreams can be quite profound and informative.
